In the fourth quarter of 2020, the food delivery service apps have shown varying trends across downloads and weekly active users in Europe. Data from Sensor Tower highlights the performance of the top five players in the market.
Just Eat - Food Delivery started the quarter with around 355K downloads and saw a peak at 469K towards its end, indicating a growing interest among users. In terms of weekly active users, Just Eat maintained a strong user base, starting with 3.98M and peaking at 4.38M, reflecting a consistent market presence.
Uber Eats: Food Delivery observed a similar trend in downloads, beginning at approximately 379K and reaching a high point of 455K in early November. However, there was a noticeable dip to 289K before a year-end recovery to 374K. Weekly active users for Uber Eats showed a high of 9.79M in late November, though there was a significant drop to 6.7M in the week leading up to Christmas, followed by a rebound to 8.38M.
Too Good To Go: End Food Waste experienced fluctuating downloads, with an initial 338K that dropped to 155K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users followed a declining trend from 4.03M down to 3.21M, indicating a decrease in user engagement during the quarter.
Glovo: Food Delivery and more showed a steady start with 194K downloads and peaked at 284K in early November. The downloads then took a downturn to 187K before picking up to 231K. The weekly active users saw an initial high of 2.56M, with some fluctuations, ending the quarter at 2.27M.
Lastly, Deliveroo: Food Delivery App kicked off the quarter with 182K downloads, surging to 265K, and then followed a downward trajectory to 185K before a slight recovery to 227K. Deliveroo's weekly active users started at 3.48M, peaked at 4.24M, and saw a year-end figure of 4M.
