2026 State of Mobile is Live!

The fourth quarter of 2020 was an interesting period for the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) category in Australia. Sensor Tower's data shows varying trends among the top applications in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, a title by Shanghai Moonton Technology, exhibited a revenue trend with a peak in November, reaching $108K, and concluded the quarter at $68K. Downloads for the game showed relatively stable figures, hovering around the 2K mark weekly, while weekly active users showed a slight decline from 46K at the start of the quarter to 40K by the end.
Supercell's Brawl Stars also saw a notable peak in revenue in December at $91K, with other weeks averaging around $30K to $50K. Downloads peaked at about 5K in the first week of the quarter and saw another rise to 5.5K in the final week. The active users count saw a significant increase from 186K to 200K in the quarter's last two weeks.
Riot Games’ League of Legends: Wild Rift had a remarkable revenue jump in December, reaching $47K from a modest start in October. The game's downloads surged to 63K in the first week of December, correlating with the active user base growth from a few hundred in October to over 34K by the end of December.
Level Infinite's Arena of Valor showed modest revenue throughout the quarter, with a peak at $3.7K in the week before Christmas. Downloads and active users were consistent, with the latter ranging from 2.1K to 2.8K weekly.
Lastly, MARVEL Super War by NetEase Games had low but consistent revenue, with a slight increase to $2K at the end of November. Downloads showed a decline over the quarter, ending at 271, and active users decreased from 11.5K to just over 3K.
