In the final quarter of 2020, the sports games category saw interesting trends in the UK on the unified platform. The data provided by Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into how these games performed in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.
8 Ball Pool™ by Miniclip.com maintained a strong presence with revenue peaking at around $215K in the week leading up to Christmas. Downloads saw a significant increase in December, reaching nearly 63K in the third week. The game's weekly active users fluctuated, eventually rising to over 830K towards the end of December.
Although MAD FUT 21 Draft & Pack Opener generated no revenue, its downloads and active users showed positive trends. Downloads peaked at nearly 60K in the second week of October, while weekly active users saw a steady increase, hitting over 151K in the third week of December.
Miniclip.com's Mini Football - Soccer game experienced a decrease in revenue over the quarter, ending at about $16K in the last week of December. Downloads dropped after an initial spike in September, stabilizing at around 20K by the year's end. Weekly active users saw a decline from over 211K in early October to approximately 64K by the close of December.
MASOMO LIMITED's Head Ball 2 - Soccer Game had a modest revenue performance, with a slight increase to $20K in the final weeks of December. Downloads doubled during the Christmas week, reaching over 45K. The game's weekly active users peaked during the same period, with over 267K users engaged.
Lastly, Touchgrind BMX 2 by Illusion Labs showed a revenue of nearly $5K in the week of Christmas, with a noticeable dip in revenue earlier in the quarter. The game's downloads saw a bump in the third week of December, with over 26K downloads. Weekly active users increased to over 129K in the third week of December after a declining trend earlier in the quarter.
