In the first quarter of 2021, the UK's food delivery app market demonstrated varying performance trends across leading services on the Android platform. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers an overview of downloads and weekly active users for these apps.
Uber Eats: Food Delivery showed significant activity with downloads peaking at 75K in late January before a gradual decline to 47K by the end of March. Weekly active users remained robust, starting at approximately 1.53M and reaching a high of over 2M by late March.
Deliveroo: Food Delivery UK also experienced a rise in downloads, starting at around 39K and reaching a high of 64K in early March. The app's weekly active users reflected a steady increase from 1.19M to approximately 1.5M during the quarter.
Just Eat - Food Delivery saw its downloads fluctuate, with a modest peak of 34K in late January and a dip to around 27K by the end of March. Its weekly active users, however, showed a gradual positive trend, growing from 750K to over 880K before settling at around 826K.
Too Good To Go: End Food Waste had a notable increase in downloads, nearly tripling from 18K to a peak of 49K in early February, and then leveling off to 26K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users showed consistent growth from 180K to over 313K, eventually closing the quarter with nearly 289K users.
Lastly, Foodhub - Online Takeaways experienced a more subdued trend in downloads, starting at 18K and experiencing a slight uptick to around 13K by March. Weekly active users for Foodhub had minor fluctuations but generally hovered between 90K and 95K throughout the quarter.
