In the first quarter of 2021, tycoon games on the iOS platform have shown varying trends in user engagement and financial performance in the United States. Sensor Tower's data offers a glimpse into how these games have fared during this period.
Hay Day by Supercell exhibited a steady revenue trend, peaking at approximately $773K in the last week of March. Downloads saw an upward trend, reaching nearly 42K in the same week, while weekly active users consistently grew, culminating at around 1.46M.
Melsoft's Family Island — Farming game also showed a positive revenue trajectory, with a notable spike to over $650K in the week of March 15th. Downloads fluctuated but ended on a high note with over 36K in the last week of March, and weekly active users increased to just over 101K by the end of the quarter.
Fish & Trip from publisher HOMA GAMES, which debuted in late February, experienced a significant initial download surge at 116K, later stabilizing to around 63K by the end of March. Revenue grew modestly to about $9K, and weekly active users showed a healthy increase, reaching approximately 160K.
Lion Studios' Hooked Inc: Fishing Games saw a varied revenue pattern with an end-of-quarter peak at roughly $52K. The game's downloads had an upward trend, with a high of over 32K in the last week of March. Weekly active users demonstrated resilience with an increase to over 152K.
Lastly, LDW Software, LLC's Virtual Families 3 showed a slight decrease in revenue, dipping to around $37K by the end of March. Downloads peaked mid-February at over 31K but later declined to about 17K. The weekly active users saw a peak in late February at over 62K but experienced a slight drop to approximately 45K.
