France's Top Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps in Q1 2021

In the first quarter of 2021, France's carpooling and ridesharing sector witnessed varied performance across major apps, as reported by Sensor Tower's data. Here's how the top contenders fared in the market.

Uber - Request a ride saw its downloads fluctuating, starting at approximately 29K in the last week of December and dipping to around 23K by the end of March. Weekly active users showed a similar trend, with a high of 817K in the last week of December, which then decreased to roughly 719K by March's end.

BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus downloads also experienced a decline, from 18K at the year's start to about 13K in the final week of March. However, the app's active users peaked at nearly 195K in the last week of March, up from 204K in December.

The trend for Heetch - Ride-hailing app downloads began at approximately 13K and ended slightly lower at 9K. Active users mirrored this downward trend, starting at around 62K and descending to nearly 52K.

For Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, downloads saw an initial increase from 6.8K to 9.8K in February, followed by a decrease to 7.3K by March's end. The app's active users showed a rise from 79K to 86K in early March before dropping to about 76K.

Lastly, BlaBlaCar Daily (Covoiturage) had its downloads peak at 10.5K in mid-February and then fall to 7K at the close of March. The weekly active users slightly declined from 32K in December to 29K by the end of March.
