In the first quarter of 2021, the Australian market for delivered meal kits and specialty foods apps saw varied performance across leading platforms. Sensor Tower provides insights into the trends and numbers of these popular applications.
HelloFresh: Meal Kit Delivery saw its downloads peak at around 11K in late January, followed by a general downtrend to approximately 8K by the end of March. Weekly active users fluctuated, with a high of over 205K in late January and closing the quarter with around 193K users.
Dinnerly: Meal Kit experienced a surge in downloads in early February, reaching nearly 3K, then saw a decline to about 1.6K by the quarter's end. The app's weekly active users showed a steady increase from roughly 14K in late December to over 19K in March.
Vivino: Buy the Right Wine demonstrated consistent revenue throughout the quarter, with notable spikes to over $50 in mid-February and late March. Download numbers for Vivino showed a peak of nearly 2.9K in early January, while active users reached a high of over 10K in mid-February and late March.
Marley Spoon had its highest download numbers in late February, with more than 2.6K downloads, and ended the quarter with around 1.3K. The app's active users saw a peak of nearly 7K in early February but experienced a slight decrease to approximately 6.4K by March's end.
Youfoodz reached its zenith in downloads in early January with over 2.4K, before a decline to about 1.9K towards the end of March. Active users data for Youfoodz is not available for this period.
