As the first quarter of 2021 wrapped up, the insurance app landscape in Europe showed varied performance across the board. Data from Sensor Tower provides a glimpse into how the top 5 insurance applications fared during this time.
UnipolSai - Assicurazioni, an app from Italy, saw its downloads start at approximately 32K in the last week of December and peaked at around 41K in the second week of January. However, a downward trend followed, with downloads dropping to about 17K by the end of March. The weekly active users mirrored this trend, starting off at roughly 53K and reaching a high of about 64K in January, before declining to around 36K by the end of the quarter.
The UK-based Hastings Direct Insurance app showed a more stable download pattern, with numbers fluctuating around the 10K mark, apart from a significant spike to roughly 27K towards the end of March. Weekly active users saw a more steady rise from 26K to a peak of around 46K in the same period.
MyAXA CH maintained a relatively consistent download rate throughout the quarter, oscillating between 9K and 13K. Weekly active users for the app remained stable, with a slight increase from 16K to around 15K by the end of March.
For Vivinter, the download numbers witnessed a significant fluctuation. Starting at around 5K, there was a surge to approximately 26K in mid-February, followed by a sharp decline to 2K by the end of March. Unfortunately, the data for weekly active users was not available.
Lastly, the French app Harmonie & moi showed a gradual decrease in downloads from 12K at the beginning of the year to about 6K by the end of March. The weekly active user count began at around 37K and saw a rise to 43K in early January, before settling near the 38K mark by quarter's end.
