The first quarter of 2021 has been eventful for MMORPG enthusiasts in the United Kingdom. Sensor Tower's data provides a glimpse into the performance of the top MMORPG applications on the unified platform. Here's a breakdown of the trends for the top five titles.
Stella Arcana- Eternal Stars began the quarter with a modest revenue of approximately $3.7K in the first week of January and saw a peak of roughly $13K in late March. Downloads started strong at around 12K but gradually declined to just under 1K by the end of March, while weekly active users mirrored this trend, starting at 3.9K and decreasing to 1.6K.
Dragon Raja from Archosaur Games demonstrated a more stable revenue trend, starting at $14.9K and reaching a high of $20.7K in early March. Downloads for the game saw a significant spike to 7K in the second week of February, with active users following suit, peaking at 9.6K in the same period.
AppForge Inc.'s Dino Tamers: Jurassic MMORPG showed a revenue trend with minor fluctuations, peaking at nearly $1K in early January and again in early March. Downloads remained relatively consistent, averaging around 2.2K per week, and weekly active users stayed stable, with a slight drop from 3.3K to 3K by quarter's end.
Jagex's Old School RuneScape, hailing from the UK, maintained its lead in revenue, which oscillated between $26K and $39K, the latter being the peak in late February. Downloads hovered around 2K each week, while active users started at 22K and saw a gradual decline to 16K by the close of March.
Lastly, the newly released Blade&Soul: Revolution by Netmarble Corporation made a splash in its debut month with an opening revenue of $11.5K, spiking to nearly $20K in the following week. Downloads initiated at a strong 14K but saw a sharp decrease to just a few hundred, while active users peaked at 6.7K and fell to under 1K at quarter's end.
