In the first quarter of 2021, the Utilities category saw notable activity among the top applications in the United States on the unified platform. Sensor Tower's data provides us with a clear picture of user engagement and download trends for these apps.

Google started the quarter with downloads peaking at around 511K in the last week of December 2020, then experienced a slight downtrend to approximately 406K by the end of March 2021. Weekly active users remained robust, starting at over 76M and gently increasing to nearly 79M in the same period.

Google Chrome showed a similar pattern in downloads, peaking at 429K in early January and then settling to around 347K by the end of March. Its active users fluctuated slightly but stayed within the 145M to 146M range throughout the quarter.

Fonts, published by Fonts ApS, demonstrated consistent revenue, with the highest weekly revenue reaching over 56K USD in late March. Downloads for the app showed a gradual decline from 182K at the start of the period to 134K by the end, while weekly active users decreased from approximately 614K to 532K.

DuckDuckGo Private Browser saw a spike in downloads at the beginning of January with 565K, followed by a decline to 97K by the end of March. Active users experienced a steady upward trend, starting at around 4M and increasing to just over 5M.

Lastly, Microsoft Edge: AI Browser witnessed its downloads peak at 179K in mid-January before dropping to around 90K by the close of the quarter. The active user base for Microsoft Edge exhibited slight growth, moving from 3.6M to 3.8M in the same timeframe.
