In the first quarter of 2021, the zombie game genre maintained its popularity on mobile platforms in the United States. Sensor Tower's comprehensive data brings us insights into the performance of the top five zombie-themed games. Here's how each of them fared.
State of Survival: Zombie War by FunPlus International AG saw a consistent revenue trend in the first quarter, hovering around $4M weekly, with a peak at $4.6M in late March. Downloads started at roughly 193K in the last week of December and saw a high of 214K towards the end of January, before gradually declining to 129K by the end of March. Weekly active users showed a rising trend from about 591K at the start of January to approximately 667K at the quarter's end.
LONG TECH NETWORK LIMITED's Last Shelter: Survival experienced fluctuating revenue, with a notable increase to $2.3M in mid-February before dropping to $1.4M by the end of March. Downloads saw a decrease from 11K to 6K over the quarter, while active users declined from 158K to 119K.
The game Puzzles & Survival from BUILDING-BLOCKS NETWORK TECHNOLOGY CO.,LIMITED, showed a significant increase in revenue, starting at $1.1M and reaching a high of $2.3M in late March. Downloads peaked at 155K in mid-January and then saw a gradual decrease to 92K by the end of March. The weekly active users saw a peak at 214K in February, ending the quarter with around 202K.
Hong Kong Ke Mo software Co., Limited's Age of Origins:Tower Defense showed a revenue range between $866K and $1.2M throughout the quarter. The game's downloads peaked at 47K in early March, with a general downward trend to 22K by the end of March. Active users saw a peak at 132K also in early March but dropped to 90K by the quarter's end.
LifeAfter by NetEase Games exhibited revenue fluctuations with a notable spike of $667K in mid-February, ending the quarter with $327K. Downloads for the game started at 28K and had decreased to 20K by March's end. Active users experienced a decline from 64K in the first week of January to 46K in the last week of March.
