During the second quarter of 2021, the top air travel apps on the Android platform in the United States exhibited notable performance. According to Sensor Tower data, these applications experienced significant growth in both downloads and active users, reflecting a dynamic period for the air travel industry.
American Airlines demonstrated a consistent rise in weekly downloads, beginning at around 30K in early April and peaking at approximately 57K by mid-June. The app's active user base mirrored this upward trajectory, starting at around 157K and reaching about 247K by the end of the quarter.
Fly Delta also showed impressive growth in weekly downloads, which began at about 25K and increased to over 54K by late June. The app's active users followed a similar pattern, growing from 133K to nearly 236K over the same period.
United Airlines saw its weekly downloads increase from roughly 27K to over 40K by the end of June. Active user numbers also ascended, starting at 113K and reaching up to 157K by the end of the quarter.
Southwest Airlines experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at about 28K and peaking at approximately 42K in mid-June. The app's active users increased from 151K to about 190K during this time.
Spirit Airlines observed an upward trend in weekly downloads, beginning at 24K and reaching over 28K by mid-June. The active user base also grew steadily from 50K to about 58K by the end of the quarter.
