During the second quarter of 2021, the top 5 navigation and maps applications on the Android platform in the United States showed varying performance in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the trends for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a consistent growth in weekly downloads, starting at around 99K at the beginning of April and reaching approximately 123K by the end of June. The app also saw an increase in weekly active users, moving from about 1.41M to roughly 1.66M over the same period.

Google Earth experienced a more fluctuating download trend, with numbers peaking at around 59K in mid-April and dipping to approximately 44K by the end of May. Weekly active users for Google Earth showed some fluctuations as well, starting at around 433K and ending the quarter at approximately 478K.

GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation saw a relatively steady performance in weekly downloads, hovering around 24K throughout the quarter. The app’s weekly revenue showed a slight decline, starting at $312 in late March and ending at $226 by the end of June. Active users remained stable, fluctuating between 142K and 151K.

GPS+ Maps, Navigation, Traffic had a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 13K and peaking at approximately 18K by the end of June. The app’s weekly revenue saw a decrease from $541 in early April to $139 by the end of June. Active users for the app showed a positive trend, increasing from around 24K to nearly 28K.

Trucker Path: Truck GPS & Fuel demonstrated a strong performance in weekly revenue, with values peaking at $55K in mid-May and ending at around $52K in late June. The app’s downloads showed a gradual increase, starting at approximately 8.9K and reaching about 13.4K by the end of the quarter. Active users also increased, moving from around 38K to nearly 48K.
