During the second quarter of 2021, the top 5 dating apps on the iOS platform in Kenya showed varied performance metrics in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here is a closer look at the performance of each app, with data sourced from Sensor Tower.
Tinder Dating App: Chat & Date experienced a dynamic quarter. Weekly revenue peaked at around $2.5K in mid-April and maintained a relatively steady flow, ending June with approximately $2.2K. Weekly downloads hovered between 400 to 500, peaking at 561 in mid-May. Active users saw slight fluctuations, starting at 9.7K and reaching a high of 10.7K in mid-May, before closing the quarter at 10.6K.
Bumble Dating App: Meet & Date showed a mix of highs and lows. Revenue peaked at $780 in late April and saw a decrease to $351 by the end of June. Downloads were relatively stable, ranging from 123 to 191, with active users peaking at 2.2K in late May before ending the quarter at around 2.1K.
OkCupid Dating: Date Singles had a varied quarter in terms of revenue, starting at $466 and experiencing a peak of $473 in late May before dropping to $405 by the end of June. Weekly downloads ranged between 87 and 150, with active users showing a steady increase from 1.6K in late March to 1.9K by the end of June.
Badoo: Dating. Chat. Friends maintained consistent performance. Revenue peaked at $158 in early June, while weekly downloads saw a peak of 166 in late April. Active users remained relatively stable, ranging from 3.5K to 4K throughout the quarter.
Muzz: Muslim Marriage & Social showed modest performance. Weekly revenue saw a peak of $138 in late April, and downloads ranged between 17 and 59. Active users fluctuated slightly, starting at 452 and ending the quarter at 497.
