2026 State of Mobile is Live!

During Q2 2021, the performance of the top 5 iOS navigation and maps apps in Italy showed significant trends in downloads and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, highlights the popularity and usage patterns of these essential travel tools.
Google Maps maintained a robust presence throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads fluctuated, peaking at approximately 82K in late May, while active users consistently increased from around 5M to over 7M by the end of June.
Google Earth experienced a steady performance in weekly downloads, ranging from 8.9K to 17K. Active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 75K to 80K throughout the quarter.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a rising trend in weekly downloads, starting at 4.9K in late March and reaching 10.8K by the end of June. The app's active users also grew from approximately 525K to over 650K during the same period.
Google Street View had moderate download numbers, fluctuating between 1.9K and 3.2K per week. Active users showed minor variations, ending the quarter with around 3.9K to 4.4K.
Radarbot: Speed Cameras | GPS demonstrated consistent weekly downloads, peaking at 1.8K in late June. Weekly revenue varied from $70 to $290, and active users increased from approximately 6.3K to 7.5K by the end of the quarter.
