During the second quarter of 2021, the top communication apps in Norway demonstrated unique performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at the performance of these apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. exhibited a consistent increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $483 in early June. Downloads showed a gradual upward trend, reaching approximately 7.4K towards mid-June, while active users experienced a slight decline from 1.36M to about 1.34M by the end of the quarter.
Digipost saw a significant spike in downloads at the end of April with over 16.9K downloads, settling to a more stable rate of around 3.2K by the end of June. Active users mirrored this trend, peaking at approximately 22.4K in late April before stabilizing around 9.1K by the end of the quarter.
Snapchat experienced a steady rise in active users, reaching nearly 1.69M in mid-June. Weekly downloads peaked at 8.6K towards the end of June. Revenue showed a notable increase in early May, with weekly figures reaching up to $114 but then fluctuating to lower values towards the end of the quarter.
Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out from Discord Inc. maintained a relatively stable revenue stream, averaging around $6.7K weekly, with a small peak of $7.4K in mid-May. Downloads remained steady, with a slight dip in mid-June, averaging around 3.6K. Active users showed a slight fluctuation, peaking at about 287K in mid-June before settling back to approximately 261K by the end of the quarter.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a consistent download rate, peaking at 4.8K in mid-June. Active users remained relatively stable throughout the quarter, fluctuating slightly around 2M. Revenue saw minor fluctuations, with weekly figures averaging around $26.
