In the second quarter of 2021, the MMORPG category saw various user engagement trends across top applications in the United States on the unified platform. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into the performance of these games.
Dragon Raja, published by Archosaur Games, observed a peak in weekly revenue during mid-April at nearly $408K before experiencing a downward trend to about $205K by the end of June. Downloads for the game showed a similar trend, with a spike to over 30K downloads in mid-April and then a decline to roughly 20K by late June. Weekly active users peaked at 55K in April but saw a decrease to approximately 46K in the following weeks.
South Korean publisher 4399TH's Raider: Origin maintained a more stable revenue, fluctuating around the $180K mark, with a noticeable rise to $204K at the end of May. Downloads, however, experienced a significant drop from 9K in early April to around 2K by the end of June. Active users peaked at 11K in mid-May but gradually decreased to 8K by the end of the quarter.
Pearl Abyss Corp.'s Black Desert Mobile saw a revenue increase from $149K to over $242K in early June, followed by a slight decrease. Downloads had a notable rise to 17K by late June, contrasting with a decline in weekly active users from 62K to 60K over the same period.
NEXON Company's MapleStory M: Fantasy MMORPG demonstrated a revenue jump to $256K in the last week of June, despite an overall downward trend in the preceding weeks. Downloads remained relatively stable, ranging from 2K to 3K weekly. Active users saw a minor fluctuation, ending the quarter at roughly 6K.
Lastly, NEOCRAFT LIMITED's Tales of Wind experienced its highest revenue at the end of April with $248K, followed by a decline to around $123K by late June. Downloads decreased throughout the quarter, from 2K to just over 1K, and active users mirrored this trend, dropping from 12K to about 6K.
