In Q3 2021, Germany's top carpooling and ridesharing apps on the Android platform saw a range of performance trends in terms of downloads and active users. Here, we take a closer look at the top five apps: Bolt: Request a Ride, Uber - Request a ride, BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus, Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, and MOIA - In Hamburg & Hanover. The insights are sourced from Sensor Tower.
Bolt: Request a Ride exhibited a stable performance in terms of downloads and active users. Weekly downloads fluctuated between 15.8K and 25.6K, peaking in mid-July. The active user base steadily increased from around 34.9K at the beginning of the quarter to a high of 55.4K by mid-September, before slightly dropping to 53.1K at the end of the quarter.
Uber - Request a ride also showed consistent activity. Weekly downloads ranged from 11.9K to 15.8K, with a noticeable peak in early September. Active users started at 215K and saw a gradual increase, reaching approximately 237K by the end of September.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus had varied download numbers, with a notable spike to 13K in late August. Weekly active users began at 48.7K, peaking at 59.2K at the end of August before settling at around 53.1K by the quarter's end.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver experienced a significant fluctuation in downloads, peaking at 7K in late August. The active user count showed a generally stable trend, starting at 13.1K and ending the quarter at 18.7K, with minor fluctuations throughout.
MOIA - In Hamburg & Hanover had relatively stable weekly downloads, ranging from 1.1K to 1.6K. The active user base remained consistent, averaging around 3K throughout the quarter, with minor dips and peaks.
