In the third quarter of 2021, the top five food delivery service apps on the Android platform in the United States demonstrated varied performance trends. Here's a closer look at how each app fared during this period based on data from Sensor Tower.
Weekly downloads for DoorDash - Food Delivery fluctuated between approximately 145K to 177K. The highest number of downloads was recorded in mid-July, reaching around 178K. Weekly active users consistently increased, starting from around 5.5M at the end of June and peaking at nearly 5.96M by the end of September.
DoorDash - Dasher experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 163K in late August. Active users saw a slight decline, beginning at around 1.09M in late June and decreasing to about 974K by the end of September.
Uber Eats: Food Delivery saw its weekly downloads ranging from approximately 87K to 120K, with the highest downloads occurring in early August. The app's weekly active users showed a positive trend, growing from about 4.26M in early July to around 4.63M by the end of September.
Weekly downloads for Instacart: Get Food Delivery varied between approximately 53K and 74K, peaking in mid-August. The app's active users also demonstrated growth, starting from around 520K in late June and reaching nearly 648K by the end of September.
Grubhub: Food Delivery experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, ranging from about 47K to 68K. The highest downloads were seen in mid-August. Active users showed an upward trend, increasing from approximately 1.02M at the end of June to about 1.23M by late September.
