In Q3 2021, the top tax preparation and planning apps on the Android platform in the United States demonstrated diverse trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Data from Sensor Tower provides a comprehensive view of the performance metrics for the top five apps in this category.
IRS2Go from the Internal Revenue Service saw a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 36K in late June and falling to around 16K by the end of September. Despite the decrease in downloads, the app maintained a robust user base, with weekly active users fluctuating between 1.4M and 1.2M throughout the quarter.
MyBlock from H&R Block experienced a peak in downloads mid-July, reaching 8.5K, before stabilizing around 3K towards the end of the quarter. Its weekly active users followed a similar pattern, peaking at 45.8K in mid-July and settling around 28.9K by the end of September.
TurboTax: File Your Tax Return from Intuit Inc had consistent weekly downloads, remaining between 4.3K and 3.1K. The app's weekly active users showed a slight decline from 318K in late June to about 260K by the end of September.
Stimulus Check App 2021 - Stimulus Check Status by Awesome App Ideas had relatively low download numbers, peaking at 1.7K in mid-July and dropping to 744 by the end of September.
Hurdlr: Mileage, Expense & Tax from Hurdlr, Inc. showed a stable revenue stream, starting at $4.4K per week in late June and reaching $5.8K by the end of September. Weekly downloads for Hurdlr remained fairly consistent, ranging from 856 to 701 throughout the quarter.
