The third quarter of 2021 saw interesting trends for the top navigation and maps apps on iOS in Latin America. Here's a closer look at the performance of these apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps maintained a strong presence throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads showed a steady increase, starting at around 174K and peaking at 210K in mid-August. By the end of September, downloads slightly decreased to 180K. Active users displayed a consistent upward trend, growing from 12.6M at the beginning of July to 13.4M by the end of September.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced fluctuations in downloads. The app started with 73K downloads in late June, reaching its peak of approximately 87K in early July before settling back to around 71K by the end of the quarter. Active users saw a slight overall increase from 5.3M to 5.5M, despite some minor weekly variations.

Google Earth had a relatively stable quarter in terms of downloads and active users. Weekly downloads hovered around the 20K mark, with a slight peak of 26K in early July. Active users remained steady, averaging around 145K throughout the quarter.

Google Street View showed modest growth. Downloads started at 3.3K in late June and gradually increased to around 4.3K by the end of September. Similarly, active users grew from 4.2K to 4.8K over the same period.

Radarbot: Speed Cameras | GPS from Iteration Mobile S.L had a notable performance. Weekly revenue saw a significant jump from $249 in late June to approximately $1.4K by mid-September. Downloads peaked at 4.6K in late August, although they decreased to around 1.8K by the end of the quarter. Active users showed an initial increase from 6.6K to 8.3K in August before declining to 5.7K by late September.
