In the third quarter of 2021, the top 5 carpooling and ridesharing apps in the United Kingdom showcased varied performance trends in terms of downloads and active users. Here’s a detailed look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.
Uber - Request a ride had a strong quarter, with weekly downloads starting at approximately 81K in late June and peaking at around 126K in mid-September. The app saw a consistent increase in weekly active users, rising from about 1.57M to 1.88M over the quarter.
Bolt: Request a Ride experienced growth in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads rose from roughly 48K to 74K by the end of September. Active users saw a notable increase, starting at around 306K in late June and reaching 410K by the end of the quarter.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver showed steady activity in weekly downloads, ranging from about 12K to 17K throughout the quarter. Active users fluctuated slightly but ended the quarter with approximately 186K, similar to their starting point.
Ola: Book Cab, Auto, Bike Taxi had modest download numbers, ranging from around 11K to 16K weekly. The app's active users grew steadily from about 208K in late June to 273K by the end of September.
Gett - Ground Transportation saw lower download numbers compared to the other apps, starting at about 3.4K and peaking at around 6.3K in mid-September. Active users increased from roughly 4.9K to 8K over the quarter.
