In the third quarter of 2021, cryptocurrency apps in Guatemala experienced diverse trends in weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top 5 apps on a unified platform.

Abra: Buy & Trade BTC & Crypto saw fluctuating weekly downloads, peaking at around 2K in early July and dropping to as low as 154 by the end of September. Active users for the app also varied, starting at approximately 3.5K and reaching a high of 5.2K in early July before declining to just over 3K by the quarter’s end.

Chivo Wallet, launched by the Government of El Salvador, experienced a significant rise in weekly downloads, starting at 951 in early September and peaking at 2.7K in mid-September. The app's active users also surged, starting at 264 and climbing to nearly 6K by the end of the month.

Status - Gateway to Ethereum had a noteworthy peak in weekly downloads in mid-July with around 2.3K, though it saw a steep decline to just 54 by the end of September. Active users followed a similar trend, peaking at 719 in mid-July and decreasing to 72 by the end of September.

Uphold: Buy BTC, ETH and 300+ had consistent weekly downloads, ranging from 75 to 164 throughout the quarter. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at around 5.2K and ending the quarter at approximately 4.7K.
