In the third quarter of 2021, the top 5 geolocation games in South America showcased intriguing trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at their performance.
Pokémon GO from Niantic, Inc. experienced notable fluctuations in its metrics. Weekly revenue peaked at around $282K in mid-July and then gradually declined, ending the quarter at approximately $91K. Weekly downloads saw a significant surge to over 512K in the week of July 12, followed by a decrease, stabilizing around 177K by the end of September. Active users also saw a peak in mid-July with over 11.7M users, eventually dropping to around 9.8M by the end of the quarter.
Jurassic World Alive by Jam City, Inc. had a relatively stable performance throughout the quarter. Weekly revenue remained consistent, fluctuating around $6K to $9K. Downloads spiked to 23.6K in late August but generally hovered around 12K to 19K. Active users saw a slight increase in late August, reaching over 57K, before stabilizing around 47K to 52K towards the end of September.
Tamadog - Puppy Pet Dog Games from Akita Limited Liability Company showed a varied trend in its metrics. Weekly revenue ranged from approximately $3.5K to $5.8K, with minor fluctuations. Downloads were initially high at around 27K in early July, then dipped to about 5.5K in early August, before rising again to over 10K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at over 53K and ending the quarter at around 30K.
The Walking Dead: Our World by Next Games saw a significant increase in all metrics mid-quarter. Weekly revenue started at around $1K and peaked at approximately $1.4K in late September. Downloads surged from around 480 in early August to nearly 10K by early September. Active users also saw a dramatic rise from around 1.8K in early July to over 18K in early September, before settling at around 12.6K by the end of the quarter.
The Witcher: Monster Slayer by Spokko sp. z o.o., despite being a new release, showed significant initial engagement. Weekly revenue peaked at around $4.1K in late July but declined to around $188 by the end of September. Downloads followed a similar trend, starting at about 97K in late July and dropping to around 303 by the end of the quarter. Active users also decreased from around 55.6K in late July to approximately 5.7K by the end of September.
