Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps Performance in Central America Q4 2021

The fourth quarter of 2021 saw significant activity in the navigation and maps app category in Central America. Here we review the performance of the top 5 apps: Waze Navigation & Live Traffic, Google Maps, Google Earth, GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation, and Tu Tag PASE.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced an impressive increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 69K in late September and peaking at around 110K in mid-December. Weekly active users also saw positive trends, starting at about 2.04M and reaching a peak of 2.58M in mid-December before ending the quarter at 2.17M.

Google Maps maintained a steady performance with weekly downloads fluctuating between 61K and 77K, peaking in early December. Active users showed a consistent upward trend, starting at approximately 4.5M and peaking at nearly 4.95M in mid-December, before ending the quarter at 4.64M.

Google Earth saw a varied performance in terms of weekly downloads, peaking at around 42K in mid-October. Active users also showed fluctuations, starting at about 290K and peaking at approximately 315K in mid-October, before ending the quarter at around 281K.

GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation showed a steady rise in weekly downloads, peaking at around 16K in mid-November. The app's weekly revenue remained relatively low but consistent, peaking at $24 in mid-December. Active users increased from about 30K to over 42K in early November, ending the quarter at around 40K.

Tu Tag PASE experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, from around 5.4K in late September to a peak of about 13K in mid-December. Active users also showed growth, starting at approximately 42K and peaking at around 55K in late December.
