In the first quarter of 2022, the top-performing Photo and Video apps on iOS in Germany were Instagram, YouTube: Watch, Listen, Stream, CapCut - Video Editor, Snapchat, and Picsart AI Photo Video Editor. Below is a detailed analysis of their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.
Instagram experienced a fluctuating trend in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $1.5K in the week of January 24, 2022. Weekly downloads were relatively stable, ranging from 58K to 78K throughout the quarter. Active users showed a slight decline from about 5.9M to 5.8M.
YouTube: Watch, Listen, Stream saw consistent weekly revenue, maintaining figures around $320K to $380K. Downloads showed a downward trend, starting at 104K in the last week of December 2021 and dropping to 55K by early March. Active users hovered around 22M to 22.4M, with minor fluctuations.
CapCut - Video Editor did not generate any revenue during the quarter. However, weekly downloads surged dramatically, especially in late February, peaking at around 160K. Active users increased from about 119K to 117K over the quarter.
For Snapchat, revenue was negligible until mid-March, when it reached $167, and then rose to $532 by the end of the month. Weekly downloads remained relatively stable, ranging from 38K to 57K. Active users saw a decline from 5M to around 4.7M.
Picsart AI Photo Video Editor experienced a steady weekly revenue, fluctuating between $42K and $72K. Downloads saw a peak in the first week of January at about 61K, but then decreased to around 18K by mid-March. Active users showed a decline from 339K to approximately 306K over the quarter.
