In the first quarter of 2022, the top five insurance apps in the United States demonstrated varied performance metrics in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Below, we explore the trends for each app based on data from Sensor Tower.
GEICO Mobile - Car Insurance started the quarter with approximately 91K weekly downloads, peaking at around 101K in late February. The app's weekly active users fluctuated slightly, beginning at 1.19M and reaching a peak of 1.22M in late February before stabilizing around 1.17M by the end of March.
Progressive saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at 83K and peaking at approximately 96K in late February. The app's weekly active users began at 1.23M, reaching a high of 1.26M at the end of February, and concluded the quarter at around 1.20M.
State Farm® maintained consistent weekly download numbers, ranging from 59K to 66K throughout the quarter. The app's weekly active users showed a slight upward trend, starting at 411K and finishing the quarter at approximately 424K.
Sydney Health experienced a significant drop in weekly downloads, starting at 98K in late December and ending at around 37K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users also declined from 185K to 136K over the same period.
Lastly, Drive Safe & Save® saw its weekly downloads fluctuate, beginning at 49K and peaking at approximately 59K in early March. The app's weekly active users showed a consistent upward trend, starting at 2.24M and reaching around 2.36M by the end of March.
