In Q1 2022, the top 5 investing and financial management apps in New Zealand demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the trends for each app based on data from Sensor Tower.
Sharesies: Easy Investing saw a significant spike in downloads early in the quarter, peaking at over 26K in the week of January 17. However, this number gradually declined over the following weeks, ending the quarter at approximately 5K downloads per week.
Crypto.com - Buy Bitcoin, ETH experienced a steady decrease in weekly downloads throughout the quarter, starting at 4K in early January and dropping to around 1.8K by the end of March. Despite this, the app maintained a relatively stable active user base, hovering around 26K weekly active users.
MetaMask - Blockchain Wallet showed a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at 2.8K in mid-January and ending at around 720 by the end of March. The app's active user count also saw a slight decline, from about 11.5K in late January to around 9.7K at the end of the quarter.
Binance: Buy Bitcoin & Crypto had a relatively low and stable download rate throughout the quarter, ranging from 1.9K in January to about 1.2K in late March. The app's active user base showed more fluctuation, peaking at approximately 27K in early January and dropping to around 22K by the end of March.
Stake: Trade U.S. Stocks experienced a decline in weekly downloads from 1.8K in early January to about 680 by the end of March.
