In Q1 2022, the top music and audio apps in Ghana displayed diverse trends in downloads, active users, and revenue. Below, we delve into the performance of the leading five apps in this category.
Spotify: Music and Podcasts had a fluctuating download trend, peaking at around 148.8K in early January and ending the quarter with approximately 33.9K downloads. Active users also showed variability, starting the quarter at 1.04M, peaking at around 1.2M in early February, and closing at approximately 915K by the end of March.
Audiomack: Music Downloader experienced a steady decrease in downloads, starting at approximately 77.5K in early January and ending at around 44.5K. The app's active users remained relatively stable, with slight fluctuations, averaging around 2M throughout the quarter. Revenue showed minor variations, peaking at around $263 in late February.
Boomplay: Music & Live Stream also saw a decline in downloads, beginning the quarter at around 64.4K and dropping to approximately 32.4K by the end of March. Active users hovered around 800K, with minor fluctuations. Revenue saw a downward trend, peaking at $267 in late December and ending at around $162 in late March.
Shazam: Find Music & Concerts experienced a steady decrease in downloads, starting at approximately 26.4K in late December and ending the quarter at around 15.9K. Active users remained stable, averaging around 400K throughout the quarter.
DJ Music Mixer - Dj Remix Pro had a more stable download trend, peaking at around 10.9K in early January and ending at approximately 7.1K. Active users showed a general upward trend, starting at around 1K and reaching approximately 8.9K by the end of March.
