The first quarter of 2022 saw interesting trends in the performance of the top navigation and maps applications in Russia. Data from Sensor Tower provides insights into their weekly downloads, revenue, and active user numbers.

Yandex Maps & Navigator experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $10.3K in the first week of January and dropping to around $2.1K by the end of March. Weekly downloads started strong with about 217K in late December but saw a decline to around 157K by the end of the quarter. Active users showed a similar trend, beginning at 9.5M and ending at approximately 8.9M.

2GIS: Offline Map & Navigation did not generate any revenue during this period. Weekly downloads showed a steady trend, starting at 155K and maintaining around 123K by the end of March. Active users also remained relatively stable, starting at 5.8M and ending at around 5.4M.

Yandex Navi – navigation, maps saw its highest weekly revenue in the first week of January at approximately $25.7K, but this figure dropped to around $8.8K by the end of March. Google Maps did not generate any revenue during the first quarter. Weekly downloads started at 31K and ended at around 33K. Active users showed a slight increase from 4.3M at the beginning of the quarter to approximately 4.5M by the end of March.

MAPS.ME: Offline Maps, GPS Nav saw its highest weekly revenue in the last week of December at $485, which dropped to just $56 by the end of March. Weekly downloads began at 12.5K and saw a peak of 38.3K in late February, before ending at around 13K. Active users started at 99K and ended at approximately 79K.
