In Q1 2022, the top 5 Photo and Video applications in Nigeria displayed diverse performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. The data provided by Sensor Tower gives us a detailed insight into how these apps fared.
Snapchat experienced a notable rise in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $109 in the final week of March. Weekly downloads were quite dynamic, starting at 123K in late December and reaching a high of 158K in mid-February before stabilizing around 106K by the end of March. The app's active users showed a slight decline from 3.7M to 3.6M throughout the quarter.
Instagram had a relatively stable revenue pattern, with weekly earnings fluctuating between $87 and $297. Downloads started strong at 164K in early January and gradually tapered off to around 114K by the end of March. Active users remained robust, consistently hovering around the 6.4M mark throughout the quarter.
YouTube: Watch, Listen, Stream saw impressive revenue performance, peaking at $13K in late February. Weekly downloads were steady, averaging around 34K, with a slight increase to 36K in the final week of March. Active users showed a positive trend, growing from 46.1M to 47.6M over the quarter.
VLC media player maintained a steady download rate, averaging around 25K weekly downloads. Active users fluctuated slightly but remained around the 850K to 940K range throughout the quarter.
Lomotif: Edit Video. Add Music showed a gradual decrease in weekly downloads, starting at 24K in late December and dropping to 14K by the end of March. Active users also saw a decline from 207K to 161K over the same period.
