In Q2 2022, the performance of the top 5 theme park apps on Android in the United States showcased interesting trends in weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a detailed look at the data, courtesy of Sensor Tower.
My Disney Experience from Disney saw a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 22.6K at the end of March and ending at around 17.3K by the end of June. The app's weekly active users also showed a downward trend from 85.8K to 76.1K over the quarter.
Disneyland® experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, beginning with 12.8K at the end of March and rising to about 16.8K by late June. The app also saw a significant rise in weekly active users, starting at 35.3K and peaking at approximately 44.1K in mid-May before stabilizing around 42.2K by the end of the quarter.
Universal Orlando Resort from NBCUniversal Media, LLC had a fluctuating download pattern, with weekly downloads peaking at 15.6K in late March and falling to around 10K by the end of June. The app’s weekly active users followed a similar trend, decreasing from 41K to 32.3K over the same period.
SeaWorld from SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Inc. showed a remarkable increase in weekly downloads, starting at 6.3K at the end of March and climbing to 14K by the end of June. The app's weekly active users also saw a notable rise, beginning at 10.3K and reaching 19.1K by the end of the quarter.
Finally, Six Flags from Six Flags Entertainment Corp. exhibited significant growth in weekly downloads, starting at 3.3K in late March and increasing to 12.1K by the end of June. This growth was mirrored in the app’s weekly active users, which rose from 14.1K to 27.5K during the same period.
