In the second quarter of 2022, the top 5 lifestyle apps on iOS in Africa exhibited varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Below is a detailed analysis of their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.
During Q2 2022, Pinterest consistently maintained a weekly download range between 21K and 24K. The highest number of downloads was recorded in the week of June 20, with approximately 24.3K. Active users varied slightly, starting at around 2.09M at the beginning of April and ending at approximately 2.05M by the end of June.
Tinder's weekly revenue showed a peak in early May, reaching around $64K. Weekly downloads ranged from about 13.7K to 16.8K, with a noticeable drop towards the end of June. Active users saw a slight increase from 235K to 241K over the quarter, indicating steady engagement.
NGL experienced significant growth in June, with weekly downloads peaking at approximately 100K in mid-June. Revenue also saw a notable increase, reaching about $10K in the same period. Active users surged to around 92.9K in mid-June before declining to about 27.5K by the end of the month.
obimy's revenue peaked in late April, reaching around $1.4K. However, downloads saw a substantial spike in April with 34.4K, followed by a decline. Active users peaked at approximately 58.8K in late April but dropped to around 10.7K by the end of June.
Glovo showed consistent growth in active users, starting from around 38K in late March and reaching approximately 62K by the end of June. Weekly downloads remained steady, fluctuating between 5.3K and 7.5K throughout the quarter.
