In the third quarter of 2022, the horror game genre saw notable activity on the Android platform in South America. Here, we look at the performance of the top 5 horror games, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 from Mob Entertainment experienced a notable launch in mid-August. Weekly revenue started strong at approximately $16K, peaking the following week at around $18K. However, it saw a steady decline, ending the quarter at about $2.7K. Downloads followed a similar trend, beginning at roughly 2.9K and peaking at 3.7K before tapering off to around 948 by the end of September.
Identity V by NetEase Games maintained a consistent performance. Weekly revenue fluctuated, starting at approximately $4.2K and peaking at $7.6K in early July, before gradually declining to about $2K by the end of the quarter. Downloads showed a downward trend from 6K to around 4K. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 69K and 78K throughout the quarter.
Poppy Playtime Chapter 1, also from Mob Entertainment, showed a decrease in both revenue and downloads. Weekly revenue declined from about $7.2K to $1.5K, while downloads dropped from 3.7K to 905. Active users followed a similar downward trend, decreasing from 6.6K to approximately 3.2K.
Myths of Moonrise by StarFortune had a dynamic quarter. Weekly revenue saw a steady increase, starting at $277 and peaking at around $4.6K by the end of September. Downloads surged to around 114K in the second week post-launch but eventually settled to approximately 15K. Active users showed a peak of 85K in the second week, later stabilizing around 31K.
Dead by Daylight Mobile from Behaviour Interactive showed relatively stable trends. Weekly revenue remained around $1.5K to $1.7K. Downloads started at about 12K, peaking at 24K in early July, and then stabilizing around 9K to 10K. Active users remained consistent, fluctuating between 32K and 47K throughout the quarter.
