The third quarter of 2022 saw interesting trends in the performance of the top five shopping apps on iOS in Ghana. Here, we analyze the weekly downloads and active user trends for Alibaba.com, Jumia Online Shopping, KiKUU: Online Shopping Mall, SHEIN - Shopping Online, and AliExpress - Shopping App.
Alibaba.com maintained a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 3.4K and 5K. The app saw a notable peak in active users, rising from around 35.2K at the end of June to approximately 41.1K by the end of September.
Jumia Online Shopping experienced a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting from 3K at the beginning of July and dropping to about 1.8K by the end of September. The active user base also saw a slight decline, from 25.1K to around 22.4K during the same period.
KiKUU: Online Shopping Mall had relatively stable download numbers, with weekly downloads ranging from 1.2K to 1.6K. Active users showed minor fluctuations but remained fairly steady, ending the quarter at approximately 17.3K.
SHEIN - Shopping Online saw significant growth in weekly downloads, especially in mid-August and mid-September, reaching peaks of 1.5K and 1.4K, respectively. The active user count mirrored this trend, increasing from 3.7K at the end of June to about 6.2K by late September.
AliExpress - Shopping App maintained a steady download rate, with weekly downloads ranging from around 500 to 970. The active user base saw a gradual increase, starting at 5.7K in late June and growing to approximately 6.9K by the end of September.
