The third quarter of 2022 saw significant activity among the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in Central America. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, reveals intriguing trends in weekly downloads and active users for these popular applications.
DiDi Rider: Affordable rides exhibited a steady increase in downloads throughout the quarter, peaking at around 202K in mid-August. The app's active user base also grew consistently, starting at 5.5M in late June and reaching approximately 5.9M by mid-September.
Uber - Request a ride maintained a robust download rate, with numbers fluctuating between 160K and 190K weekly. Active users showed a slight upward trend, beginning at 6.8M and peaking at about 7.1M in mid-September.
inDrive. Save on city rides saw a notable rise in downloads, particularly in late August, reaching a high of approximately 158K. Active users also increased, starting at 2.5M and ending the quarter around 2.7M.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver experienced steady downloads, peaking at around 55K in early September. The app's active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 430K throughout the quarter.
DiDi Driver: Drive & Earn Cash had a consistent download rate, with weekly numbers ranging from 38K to 46K. Active users saw minor fluctuations but remained around 360K by the end of September.
