In Q4 2022, the leading food delivery apps in Kenya on the Android platform displayed diverse trends in weekly downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps: Glovo: Food Delivery and More, Jumia Food: Food Delivery, Bolt Food: Delivery & Takeaway, Uber Eats: Food Delivery, and Tupande.
Glovo: Food Delivery and More saw fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at 8.3K in late September and peaking at 10.2K in the week of December 19. Weekly active users also showed a general upward trend, increasing from 115.6K to 125.1K by the end of December.
Jumia Food: Food Delivery experienced a notable spike in downloads in early November, reaching 8.8K, before settling down to 2.9K by the end of December. Active users saw a similar pattern, peaking at 73.1K in early November and ending the quarter at 52.2K.
Bolt Food: Delivery & Takeaway maintained a steady download rate throughout the quarter, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 2.4K and 3.4K. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 50K to 51K.
Uber Eats: Food Delivery showed a gradual increase in downloads, reaching a high of 4.8K in early December. Active users peaked at nearly 49.1K during the same period, before slightly decreasing to 39.2K by the end of the quarter.
Tupande had a varied download trend, starting at 1.8K in late September, peaking at 3.7K in early October, and ending the quarter with 1.8K.
