The fourth quarter of 2022 saw notable trends in the performance of the top 5 education apps in the United States. Here’s a closer look at the weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics for these leading applications, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Duolingo - Language Lessons experienced a significant increase in weekly revenue, starting from approximately $2.2M at the end of September and peaking at around $6.2M in the final week of December. Weekly downloads also saw a rise, moving from 229K to 348K, while weekly active users increased from 5.2M to 5.8M throughout the quarter.
Toca Boca World showed a fluctuating trend in weekly revenue, starting at $436K and reaching a high of $1.1M by the end of December. Weekly downloads saw a steady climb from 95K to 276K. The app's weekly active users grew from 923K to 1.2M over the same period.
Babbel - Language Learning maintained relatively stable weekly revenue, beginning at $451K and ending the quarter at $643K. Weekly downloads ranged from 58K to 83K, and weekly active users showed a slight increase from 117K to 134K.
ABCmouse: Reading & Math Games demonstrated consistent weekly revenue, starting at $459K and ending at $407K. Weekly downloads increased from 37K to 72K, while weekly active users rose from 312K to 342K during the quarter.
Photomath saw varying weekly revenue, beginning at $460K and dropping to $240K by the end of December. Weekly downloads decreased from 224K to 42K, and weekly active users dropped significantly from 12.8M to 2.8M.
