The fourth quarter of 2022 saw significant activity in the entertainment app category in Spain. Based on data from Sensor Tower, the top 5 apps—Disney+, HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies, Netflix, TikTok, and atresplayer: Series y Noticias—showed varied performance trends.
Disney+ experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $452K in late November. Weekly downloads saw an increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching around 77K in the last week of December. Weekly active users also showed a positive trend, climbing to nearly 2.4M by the end of the quarter.
HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies had a steady revenue stream, with a notable peak of around $232K in late October. Downloads fluctuated throughout the quarter, ending with approximately 56K in the final week. Active users remained relatively stable, maintaining around 558K towards the end of December.
Netflix showed consistent weekly revenue, hovering around $113K for most of the quarter. Downloads saw a significant rise towards the end, peaking at about 76K in the last week of December. Active users showed an upward trend, reaching approximately 4.3M by the end of the quarter.
TikTok displayed robust metrics, with weekly revenue peaking at around $250K in mid-December. Downloads were consistently high, reaching a peak of about 156K in the last week of December. Active users remained strong, averaging around 15M throughout the quarter.
atresplayer: Series y Noticias experienced steady revenue growth, peaking at approximately $80K in mid-December. Downloads were relatively stable, with a slight peak of around 17K in the final week of December. Active users showed a consistent trend, maintaining around 123K towards the end of the quarter.
