The fourth quarter of 2022 saw significant activity in the navigation and maps app category in the Dominican Republic. Here's a detailed look at the performance of the top 5 apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 18.4K in the last week of October. Weekly active users also showed a positive trend, growing from around 265.7K in late September to about 286.3K by mid-December.
Google Maps Go saw relatively stable download numbers throughout the quarter, with a notable spike to 7.8K in the week of December 19. The app maintained a strong weekly active user base, fluctuating slightly but ending the quarter with around 413K active users.
GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation had a varied performance in weekly downloads, peaking at 5.6K in mid-October before dipping towards the end of the quarter. Active users followed a similar trend, increasing from 4.4K in late September to 11.1K in mid-October, and then stabilizing around 6.8K by the end of December.
Live Satellite View GPS Map showed notable fluctuations in weekly downloads, reaching a high of 4.9K in the last week of October. Active users also saw a peak in mid-October at 3.7K, before stabilizing at around 1.6K by the end of the quarter.
GPS Satellite Maps: Live Earth maintained consistent download numbers, with a peak of 3.4K in mid-December. The app's weekly active users showed a gradual increase, reaching a high of 16.2K in the first week of December before ending the quarter at approximately 13K.
