In the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 navigation and maps applications on the Android platform in Brazil showed diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Below, we provide a detailed look into their performance based on Sensor Tower data.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a consistent decline in weekly downloads, starting from 257K in late December to 113K by the end of March. The app maintained a high number of weekly active users, fluctuating between approximately 2.2M and 2.4M.
Google Earth saw an upward trend in weekly downloads, peaking at 57K in mid-March. Weekly active users also showed growth, increasing from 288K at the beginning of January to 302K by the end of the quarter.
GPS Navigation: Live Earth Map showed a steady increase in weekly downloads, reaching almost 19.2K in mid-March. The number of weekly active users also rose, starting from 81K at the beginning of January and peaking at about 105K in mid-March.
GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation had notable weekly revenue fluctuations, with peaks of $154 in mid-February and $133 in mid-March. Weekly downloads saw a significant increase in early January, reaching 23K, and then gradually decreased to around 12.4K by the end of March. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, peaking at 51K in early January and then declining to 37K by late March.
Radarbot Speed Camera Detector experienced a varied performance in weekly revenue, peaking at $9.4K in late December and seeing fluctuations throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads remained relatively stable, ranging between 12K and 22K. The number of weekly active users showed minor fluctuations, staying between 33K and 42K.
