In the first quarter of 2023, food and diet tracking apps in Australia showed varied performance across weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the top 5 apps in this category, based on data from Sensor Tower.
MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter experienced a notable fluctuation in weekly revenue, peaking at around $152K in early February. Weekly downloads saw a high of 12.2K in the first week of January but gradually declined to just over 7K by the end of March. Active users peaked at 420.6K in mid-January, before seeing a slight decline, ending the quarter at approximately 336K.
BodyFast: Intermittent Fasting had a strong start with weekly revenue reaching nearly $20K in the first week of January. Downloads peaked at 6.2K in early January and then dropped to around 1.9K by the end of March. The app's active users also saw a peak of 10K in early January, declining to about 4.9K towards the end of the quarter.
Noom Weight Loss, Food Tracker showed a steady increase in revenue, with a peak of $11.5K in mid-January. Downloads were highest in the first week of January at 3.6K, but decreased to around 1.2K by the end of March. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 21K and 28K throughout the quarter.
Lose It! – Calorie Counter saw its highest weekly revenue of approximately $11.9K in early January, but this figure gradually decreased to around $4.6K by the end of March. Downloads hit a peak of 2.5K in the second week of January and fell to about 1.1K by the end of the quarter. Active users consistently hovered around 11K to 15K during the period.
Calorie Counter - MyNetDiary had its highest weekly revenue of nearly $9.8K in early January, gradually decreasing to around $6.1K by the end of March. Downloads peaked at 5.8K in the second week of January and dropped to around 3K by late March. Active users peaked at 25K in mid-January, ending the quarter at approximately 17.6K.
