Throughout the first quarter of 2023, the top five Maps and Navigation applications in Kenya demonstrated a range of performance metrics across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at how these apps fared on a unified platform:
Air Navigation Pro saw a fluctuating trend in weekly revenue. It started with $24 in the final week of December 2022 and peaked at $96 in the last week of February. Weekly downloads were relatively modest, with a notable peak of 151 downloads in the first week of January.
BlackVue showed a consistent revenue stream with a peak of $77 in the week of March 20. Download activity was sporadic, with the highest number of downloads being 46 in the week of January 23. The app had 33 active users in the same week, which then dropped to 10 by the end of January.
Circuit Route Planner maintained a steady weekly revenue around $5-$7 throughout the quarter. Download numbers showed a gradual increase, peaking at 55 downloads in the last week of March. Active users ranged from 69 to 95, with a peak in the final week of March.
Gaia GPS: Offroad Hiking Maps experienced a significant peak in revenue at $64 in the week of January 23. Weekly downloads varied, with the highest being 188 in the first week of January. Active user numbers were strong, peaking at 316 in the same week.
Navionics® Boating displayed a steady revenue trend with a notable peak at $51 in the week of March 20. Downloads showed a gradual increase, reaching a high of 38 in the same week. Active user numbers also showed a positive trend, peaking at 62.
