The first quarter of 2023 saw notable activity in the music and podcasts app category in Mexico. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top 5 apps: YouTube Music, Spotify - Music and Podcasts, Deezer: Music Player, Podcast, Apple Music, and Convoy Network.
YouTube Music experienced a consistent increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $51.7K in the final week of February. Weekly downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 62K and 75K, with a slight dip mid-quarter. Weekly active users grew steadily from 10.4M to a high of 11.8M by mid-March.
Spotify - Music and Podcasts saw its weekly revenue peak at approximately $32.9K in mid-February. Downloads varied, ranging from 355K to 443K, showing a slight decline towards the end of the quarter. Active users consistently hovered around the 22M to 23M mark, with minor fluctuations.
Deezer: Music Player, Podcast showed a gradual increase in weekly revenue, reaching about $21K by mid-February. Downloads saw a significant spike to 22K in the last week of February before settling back down to around 12K by the end of March. Active users saw minor fluctuations, staying around the 800K mark throughout the quarter.
Apple Music had a varied performance with weekly revenue peaking at $17.7K in mid-February. Downloads remained steady, fluctuating between 14K and 19K. Active users were relatively stable, ranging from 77K to 82K throughout the quarter.
Convoy Network reported a gradual increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $8.9K in the last week of February. Downloads were minimal but showed a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, peaking at 159 in early March.
