During the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 sandbox games in the United Arab Emirates exhibited diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of Roblox, Minecraft, Growtopia, Blockman GO, and Rec Room: Play with Friends.
Roblox saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, starting at around $146K at the end of December 2022 and peaking at approximately $164K in the last week of January. Weekly downloads fluctuated, starting at 14.8K in late December and ending the quarter at 15.8K. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 310K to 330K throughout the quarter.
Minecraft experienced modest weekly revenue, with values ranging from $3.2K to $5.1K, peaking in mid-March. Downloads showed a downward trend overall, starting at 3.8K in late December and dropping to around 2.2K by the end of March. Active users remained consistent, fluctuating between 100K and 115K.
Growtopia had a varied revenue performance, with significant peaks and troughs. The highest revenue was recorded in early February at $8.3K. Downloads were quite low, starting at 174 in late December and ending the quarter at 209. Active users ranged between 370 and 510 throughout the quarter.
Blockman GO showed a mixed revenue trend, starting at $1.3K in late December and reaching a peak of $1.3K again in mid-March. Weekly downloads began at 1.4K and saw a slight decline, ending at 0.9K by the end of March. Active users were relatively stable, fluctuating between 4.8K and 7.7K throughout the quarter.
Rec Room: Play with Friends had a relatively low but fluctuating revenue, with values ranging from $248 to $1.3K, peaking in the first week of March. Downloads varied, starting at 771 in late December and ending at 760 by the end of March. Active users remained steady, fluctuating between 6.5K and 7.8K.
