In Q2 2023, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Italy saw significant activity among the top five apps. Here’s a closer look at their performance on the Android platform:
Uber - Request a ride maintained a strong presence with a consistent increase in downloads. Starting at approximately 8.4K downloads in the last week of March, it peaked at around 12.2K by the end of June. Weekly active users also showed a steady rise, growing from about 331K to nearly 393K over the quarter.
Bolt: Request a Ride experienced fluctuating download numbers but ended on a high note. Downloads began at roughly 4.9K and saw a peak of about 7.6K in the week of June 19. The app’s weekly active users grew steadily from around 34K to over 42K by the end of the quarter.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus saw a mixed trend in downloads, starting at approximately 2.6K and reaching a peak of 3.2K mid-quarter, before stabilizing around 2.6K. Weekly active users showed a slight decline, beginning at about 22.5K and ending the quarter at around 20.8K.
Cabify showed a gradual increase in downloads, beginning at around 797 and reaching approximately 1.5K by the end of April, then stabilizing around 1K towards the end of June. Weekly active users followed a similar pattern, growing from about 4.9K to approximately 6.3K by the end of the quarter.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had a varied download trend, starting at approximately 870 and peaking at around 1.1K in late May, before declining to about 612 by the end of June. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 18K throughout the quarter.
