During the second quarter of 2023, the top 5 Navigation and Maps apps on the Android platform in the United Kingdom demonstrated varied performance trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a detailed look at each app's performance based on Sensor Tower data.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic showed a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting at 14.4K in late March and peaking at around 18.9K by the end of June. Active users also saw a steady rise, from approximately 324K at the beginning of the quarter to nearly 397K by the end.
what3words: Navigation & Maps experienced a notable uptick in weekly downloads, reaching a high of about 17.9K in mid-June. Active users followed a similar trend, growing from roughly 58K in late March to around 68K by the end of June.
Google Earth maintained a stable pattern in weekly downloads, fluctuating between 11.1K and 17K throughout the quarter. Active users saw a slight increase, starting at about 130K and ending at approximately 138K.
GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation from AppStar Studios reported consistent weekly revenue, peaking at around $886 in the final week of June. Downloads ranged between 4.4K and 6.3K, while active users increased from roughly 20.3K at the start of the quarter to about 20.8K by the end.
Live Satellite View GPS Map saw a significant spike in weekly downloads, peaking at 8.9K in mid-May. Weekly revenue reached up to $271 in late May. Active users increased from about 2.9K in late March to over 5.1K by the end of June.
