The second quarter of 2023 saw interesting movements in the performance of the leading navigation and maps applications on the Android platform in Russia. Here’s a closer look at the top 5 apps based on data from Sensor Tower.
Yandex Maps and Navigator experienced a consistent upward trend in downloads, starting from 151K in late March and peaking at 227K by the end of June. The app also saw a steady increase in weekly active users, growing from 8.75M to 9.75M over the quarter.
Yandex Navigator also showed positive growth in downloads, beginning with 112K in late March and reaching 143K by the end of June. Weekly active users for this app increased from 2.39M to 2.66M during the same period.
2GIS beta saw a significant spike in downloads mid-quarter, jumping from 8K in early May to 200K in mid-June. Its weekly active users also surged, rising from 106K at the start of the quarter to 365K by mid-June.
2GIS: Offline map & navigation had a stable download trend, with numbers fluctuating around 100K per week. The app maintained a steady weekly active user base, hovering around the 3.8M mark throughout the quarter.
GPS АнтиРадар (радар-детектор) showed a gradual increase in downloads, starting from 22K in late March and reaching 32K by the end of June. The app’s weekly active users also rose steadily from 60K to 76K over the quarter.
