The second quarter of 2023 showcased notable trends for the top dining and restaurant applications in Switzerland. Here, we delve into the weekly downloads and active user metrics for the leading apps in this category, based on data from Sensor Tower.
McDonald’s - Non-US saw a significant spike in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 27K in mid-April. This surge was followed by a steady decline, ending the quarter with around 4.3K downloads. Weekly active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, starting at 153K and ending at 162K, with a peak of 163K in mid-June.
For Burger King CH, weekly downloads showed a moderate rise in April, reaching around 6.5K, before tapering off to about 3.3K by the end of June. The app maintained a relatively stable number of weekly active users, ranging from 16K to 19K over the quarter.
TheFork - Restaurant bookings experienced a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting the quarter with 2.2K and concluding with 1.4K. Active users also saw a downward trend, beginning at 8.2K and finishing at 7.9K.
Starbucks Switzerland maintained a consistent download rate, starting at 780 and peaking at 1.2K in early May, before settling at around 700 by the end of June. Unfortunately, data on active users for this app was not available for this period.
Lastly, Brezelkönig showed a stable download rate throughout the quarter, averaging around 600 downloads per week, with a peak of 862 in late May. As with Starbucks, active user data was not provided for this period.
