In Q2 2023, the performance of the top 5 navigation and maps apps on a unified platform in Oceania showcased notable trends. The data, provided by Sensor Tower, offers insights into weekly downloads, active users, and revenue for these apps.
Google Maps experienced consistent weekly downloads, peaking at around 35K in early June. Weekly active users fluctuated slightly but remained robust, averaging around 2.9M throughout the quarter.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a significant increase in weekly downloads, reaching nearly 30K in early April. Active users also exhibited a steady rise, growing from approximately 508K to 559K by the end of June.
Google Earth maintained a stable download rate, with weekly downloads ranging from 12K to 21K. Active users saw a slight decline from 69K to around 55K over the quarter.
GPS Map Navigation generated weekly revenue consistently in the range of $400 to $470. Downloads remained relatively stable, peaking at nearly 4.5K in early April. Active users showed a gradual decline from 33K to around 31K by mid-June.
MAPS.ME: Offline Maps, GPS Nav saw weekly downloads peak at approximately 2.8K in late June. Active users demonstrated a steady increase, reaching 5.4K by the end of the quarter. Revenue, however, showed a downward trend, dipping to around $97 by the end of June.
